Great coffee is a rhythm: the right grind, the right ratio, the right time. Here's how to get the most out of every Tempo bag, whatever your brewer.

Drip Coffee Maker

Grind: Standard  |  Ratio: 2 tablespoons per 6 oz of water  |  Time: 4–6 minutes

The everyday workhorse. Use filtered water, fill your basket with a level bed of grounds, and clean your machine monthly — stale oils are the fastest way to flatten a good roast. Works beautifully with our house blends.

Pour Over

Grind: Standard, slightly finer  |  Ratio: 1:16 coffee to water  |  Time: 2:30–3:30

The best way to hear everything a coffee has to say. Rinse your filter, bloom the grounds with twice their weight in water for 30–45 seconds, then pour in slow circles. Ideal for our single origins.

French Press

Grind: Coarse  |  Ratio: 1:15 coffee to water  |  Time: 4 minutes

Full-bodied and forgiving. Add coarse grounds, pour hot water (just off the boil), stir once, and press slowly at 4 minutes. Decant right away so it doesn't over-extract.

Cold Brew

Grind: Coarse  |  Ratio: 1:4 for concentrate  |  Time: 12–18 hours

Slow music. Steep coarse grounds in cold, filtered water in the fridge overnight, strain, and cut the concentrate 1:1 with water or milk over ice. Start with our cold brew blends — they're roasted for exactly this.

Espresso

Grind: Espresso  |  Ratio: 1:2 in about 25–30 seconds

High tempo, high reward. Start with 18g in, 36g out, and adjust the grind until the shot runs sweet, not sour or bitter. Order any of our coffees in an espresso grind.
